The Cecil County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency servicing a population of 99,506 people within 348.13 square miles of juridiction.[1]
Duties[]
The CCSO is responsible for the protection of life and property, enforcing orders of the court, and maintaining the detention facility for Cecil County, Maryland.
Organization[]
The current sheriff is Barry A. Janney Sr. The agency is divided into several sections[2]:
- Law Enforcement- consists of (but not limited to) patrol, criminal investigations division (CID), K-9, SRT (SWAT), School Resource Officers, Police Communications, and Records.
- Corrections- consists of housing, controlling, and transportation of inmates
