The Newark Police Department is the largest municipal law enforcement agency in New Jersey. The department is headed by Anthony Campos, the Chief of Police; as well as Garry McCarthy, the civilian police director.
The Newark Police Department is broken down into Four (4) Precincts. These Precincts are located throughout the City of Newark. Each Precinct is affiliated with a number that each patrol car displays. The 2nd Precinct starts with the #2, the 3rd Precinct starts with the #3, the 4th Precinct starts with the #4 and the 5th Precinct starts with the #5.
